A cold bleak wash of nothing, that found itself spread out across an even bigger void. The emptiness of it all would have been unbearable had there been anything there to bear it.

As gases ebbed and swirled into life, so they swirled and ebbed into each other. The universe was created by the simple act of attraction. It decided to be, and so it was. These swirls danced like twin flames around a timeless universe. A colossal canvas upon which all manner of thoughts and people and feelings could eventually paint their picture.

But in this moment, there was simply gas. Blue and orange mists, balls of delight wiggled into each others path and seemingly fleeted out. But never the less leaving a remnant of themselves inside one another. Always leaving a trail. Forever losing part of what they were to become what they are.The black canvass watched nonchalantly. After all what could a ball of gas do? Nothing but elements that swooped and fizzed off each other in a small incoherent way. Like toddlers that played ball in a sand pit watched by bored parents. Nothing would ever come of it.

Many billions of years groaned away. If the black canvas had been aware of time as we know it, it would have told them to hurry up. Instead it just watched. Seeing a flare of purple, and then a deep red. The ball of playful fire in the void had found some sort of pattern. The separate elements were calm for the most part, then suddenly erupted in a frenzy until settling down again.

Parted momentarily to allow the black canvass to witness that they are still single elements. Combined for a short time then drifting off to dance on their own.It wasnt obvious, because it hadnt happened before... ever. But in fact what was happening was attraction. Two elements of equal strength were about to combine. The purple haze and red swirls were about to come together and form something else. A third element. The sound of planets being squeezed into of life, the squelch of primordial swamp slips from the center. Swirls and crashes of things slamming into each other, this was Gods kitchen.

It all looked like a huge galactic mess to the canvass, the black void brought to bear witness to this. This act of first creation. This act of love... as two elements collided into each others outer shell and became a singularity. As they mixed like water and milk to become a fog unto their own. Faster and faster the swirls spun before the void, the playfulness became serious and intense. The interactions rapid and forceful, the flirting been and gone. All at once they fluttered away.

Paused before they came screaming toward each other without fear or prejudice. Without ego or guilt or any small sense of pride. They simply must be together. Smashed into each other hard. The colors fluctuated bright and dark, blue and red. The purples and violets came, followed my maroons and pinks.

Culminated in a compressed ball no bigger than the size of an orange. Immense passion welled up inside as it shook violently against the black canvas. It fell freely through the nothingness like two eagles entwined in courtship. Its sound would have been akin to an Tie-Fighter falling helplessly toward the Death Star after being shot at.

Until eventually........ we hear a bang. So monumental, the aftershock would still be felt long after the first human had died, and he was not even thought of yet.
